Background

I was approached by a client to design custom seating cards for their baby shower. An exploratory meeting revealed that the client was seeking a cute and playful aesthetic for celebrating the coming of a baby girl.

Problem

After discussing options between flat and tented cards, it was decided that a flat card cut to a custom-shape would work best as a memorable and playful design. With approval from the client, I illustrated a pacifier for the card design. The client had provided me with an excel file containing the names of every guest who needed a seating card. Using the technique of variable data printing, I generated a print file with the names of the client’s guests placed across the rim of each pacifier.

Solution

The final result was a cute and personalized seating card sized perfectly to go atop a napkin and dish.
